LOCATIONS SHOWN FROM EAST TO WEST

Magnolia Brewing, 1398 Haight St (at Masonic Ave.)
Great selection of beers micro-brewed onsite.  Burgers, sandwiches, sausages and pub food.  This was once the Drogstore Café and is named for its colorful chef, Magnolia Thunderpussy.

Trax Bar, 1437 Haight St. (btw. Mason and Ashbury)
LGBT bar with a long history in the neighborhood.

Pork Store Café, 1451 Haight St. (btw. Mason and Ashbury)
Nothing fancy but good, stick-to-your-ribs breakfast and lunch dishes.

VeganBurg, 1466 Haight St. (nr. intersection with Ashbury)
New, vegan place.  We haven't eaten here yet.  Let us know what you think!

Grateful Dead House, 710 Ashbury St. (nr. Waller)
TOUR END POINT.

Haight Street Market, 1530 Haight St. (btw. Ashbury and Clayton)
Great take-out deli with huge sandwiches.  You can sit in the "parklet" in front.

Street Taco, 1607 Haight St. (btw. Clayton and Belvedere)
Quality, quickly prepared tacos.  It has some seating but may fill up on weekends.  Always a good option for food to go.  One of our favorites, especially when we’re pressed for time.

Zam Zam, 1633 Haight St. (btw. Clayton and Belvedere)
Another favorite — you will feel like you've walked into the set of Casablanca.  This is one of the oldest businesses on Haight St., operating since 1941.  A scene from Woody Allen's film “Blue Jasmin” was shot here.  No food.  Note that it generally opens at 3 pm.

Park Branch SF Public Library, 1833 Page St. (btw Cole and Shrader)
TOUR START POINT.

The Ice Cream Bar, 815 Cole St. . (at Frederick St.)
Old fashioned homemade ice cream and unique soda concoctions.

The Alembic, 1725 Haight St. (btw. Cole and Shrader)
Great bar with an amazing selection of whiskies.  Very hip menu with intriguing bar food.

Escape From New York Pizza, 1737 Haight St. (btw. Cole and Shrader)
Good pizza but limited seating.  A good choice if you don't mind a quick bite eaten while standing.

Citrus Club 1790 Haight St. (btw. Cole and Shrader)
Noodles, noodles, noodles.  Big portions, very reasonably priced.  Soups and wok-tossed dishes.  We recommend the tom ka-thai coconut soup.

Cha Cha Cha, 1801 Haight St. . (at Shrader)
Fabulous Caribbean tapas.  Fun décor.  The sangria of death (it's sooo good).  Great place for sharing.  Reasonably priced.  Rich food -- everything is good.  We love the spinach salad, fried calamari, fried plantanos, ceviche and the flan.
