Painter Chuck Close, who died earlier this year, overcame disabilities and a lifetime of health challenges to create a highly respected body of work often represented at SFMOMA and other Bay Area museums. Close is most well-known for his intriguing photorealist paintings, many of which are portraits of himself, family members, and fellow artists. Anna Ewins will return to Art Viewing Adventures and be joined by fellow museum guide Joan Hammer to discuss Close’s career.
