Art Viewing Adventures:

Thomas Hart Benton was one of the most famous “Regionalist” painters of the 1930s. We’ll be joined by Steve Sitton, the Historic Site Supervisor for the T.H. Benton Home State Historic Site in Kansas City, for a presentation that will introduce us to Benton’s timeline, provide a brief walkthrough of his home and studio and look at each one of his 15 murals. We’ll also discuss a key Benton work, Susanna and the Elders, which hangs at the de Young Museum.
