Rodney met Lisa Levine during the recent SF ArtSpan Open Studios event and was drawn by her fascinating images, which begin as photographs but are transformed in novel ways. He also found her great to talk with and felt she’d be a terrific Art Viewing Adventures guest.

Our program will explore Levine’s photographic and public-art work, delving into her series such as Topographies and Swim which juxtapose grid-like geometric structures with organic rhythms of water and landscape. We’ll discuss her evolution into large-scale commissioned works for public spaces in the Bay Area, showing how she transforms everyday environments into contemplative visual experiences.
