Last year marked the 100th birthday of celebrated California artist Wayne Thiebaud. He taught at UC Davis in the 1970s along with a group of Funk and Conceptual artists that included Robert Arneson, Manuel Neri, Roy De Forest and William T. Wiley.
Museum guide Dragana Monson will present this and lead a discussion on their wide range of styles, combining realism and illusionism, the mundane and the bizarre, displaying sophisticated thinking with a folksy attitude.
